To provide an enjoyable shopping experience and help you find the perfect disc, we utilize an AI-powered chatbot. When you interact with this service, the following terms apply regarding your data and privacy.
1. Information We Collect and Process
When you use the DisCats chatbot, we collect and store:
- Conversation Logs: The text containts of your and the bots messages.
- Pseudonymized Identifiers: We use a
session_idto maintain conversation continuity and ensure the AI can assist you throughout your visit. - Account Integration: If you are logged in, the AI may see your username and email.
2. How We Use Your Data
The data collected via the chatbot is used to:
- Personalize Recommendations: Analyze your preferences to suggest discs based on flight numbers, brand, or specific attributes.
- Service Improvement: If the “Learning” toggle is enabled, your interaction data helps us refine the AI’s understanding of disc golf terminology and improve product suggestions.
3. Third-Party Service Providers (Sub-processors)
To power this experience, your data is shared with the following providers:
- OpenAI: Acts as the LLM (Large Language Model) provider. Data sent via their API is used solely for generating responses and is retained for 30 days for abuse monitoring; it is not used to train their global models. Read the OpenAI privacy policy
- Supabase: Provides our secure database where chat logs and
session_iddata are stored to ensure a seamless user experience. Database is located on a Swedish server.
4. Your Choices and Controls
We believe in full transparency and user control:
- AI Learning Toggle: You can choose whether your data is used to “teach” our AI. If disabled, your history is still saved via
session_idfor your current session but will not be used for learning about your personal preferences or linked to your account. - Marketing Toggle: By enabling this, you consent to receive personalized offers, “SALE” alerts, and promotional campaigns based on your chat preferences. We aim to only send you personalized and interesting offers, not spam. You can always opt out from the email list.
5. Your Rights and Data Deletion
Under the GDPR and the EU AI Act, you have the right to be “forgotten”.
Manual Erasure: Upon request, we will remove your information from our database and ensure it is purged from our service providers according to their legal retention periods.
Request Deletion: You may at any time email us at support@discats.com to request the full deletion of all data associated with your user account or specific session IDs.
Log Files
DisCats follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
Cookies and Web Beacons
Like any other website, DisCats uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.
